**Contract Talks Stall** 

With his current deal at Bayern set to expire in June 2026, the 26-year-old French center-back has emerged as a potential move for United, according to journalist Christian Falk (Bild).  Despite Bayern's efforts to extend Upamecano's contract, negotiations remain unresolved.

"I am very happy here," Upamecano said. "There are talks with Max (Eberl), Christoph (Freund), and my agent. We’ll see what happens.”

**United Seeks Defensive Stability**

Following the acquisitions of Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, and Benjamin Sesko to strengthen their attacking options, Manchester United is now prioritizing defensive reinforcements. 


 **PSG Also In The Mix**

The race for Upamecano's signature could be a three-way contest. According to Kicker, Paris Saint-Germain is also monitoring the situation closely.

After a successful loan spell at Spezia Calcio, Rachid Kouda will return to the club for another season. The Italian-Burkinabe midfielder, currently under contract with Parma until June 2028, has impressed during his time in Serie B.

Kouda contributed three goals and three assists in 17 appearances for Spezia last season, convincing the club's management to extend his loan agreement.  His journey began at Caratese before a loan stint with Cagliari U19 and a subsequent move to Picerno. Ndiaye, 28, brings a wealth of experience to Gijón after a career spanning multiple countries and leagues.  His journey began in Senegal before making his way to Portugal, where he played for SC Braga B, Moreirense FC, and FC Porto. He made his La Liga debut with Deportivo Alavés in the 2021/22 season, followed by stints in the English Championship with Reading FC and Saudi Arabia's Al-Raed SFC.

USM Alger have officially announced the return of Abdelhak Benchikha as head coach on a one-season deal. The news comes just days after the club shared an image of Benchikha alongside club officials, sparking rumors among fans. 

"The management of USM Alger announces the signing of coach Abdelhak Benchikha for one season," the club confirmed in a statement published on its official Facebook page. "Benchikha is one of the club’s iconic figures, having guided our team to victory in the CAF Confederation Cup and the CAF Super Cup. We welcome him and wish him great success in leading the team to new titles."


This marks Benchikha's second spell at the helm of USM Alger. His first run with the club saw him lead them to unprecedented success between December 2022 and October 2023. ## Chiefs Stand By Silva Despite Fan Backlash

**Coach defends new striker amid pre-season struggles.**

Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Cedric Kaze has defended the signing of Flavio Silva, despite criticism from some fans following his performances during the pre-season tour in the Netherlands. 

The Portuguese center-forward joined Amakhosi on a two-year deal until June 2027, with an option to extend for another year. He replaced Ranga Chivaviro, whose contract wasn't renewed.

Silva arrives in South Africa after scoring nine goals and providing two assists in 33 appearances for Persebaya Surubaya last season. In his career, the former Portugal youth international has netted 56 goals with 18 assists in 194 games.

But fans haven't been fully convinced. A section of the club’s fanbase has already voiced their displeasure with Silva’s signing. 

Kaze, however, stands by the new striker. 

“It’s a player that trains very well; it’s a player that scores goals in training,” said Kaze. “Maybe people think that all the strikers need to be like Thierry Henry or Robert Lewandowski – have skills to be able to play the way they do.

**A Different Profile**

"But it’s a different profile, it’s a player that when he is in the box and there are two or three crosses you will find him in there, when there is a rebound you will find him there, when there is a shot, you will find him there. It’s a player that has tremendous presence in the box and we need players like that.”
