French Prime Minister Francois Bayrou called the raging wildfires engulfing a region of southern France "a catastrophe on an unprecedented scale."  "What is happening today is linked to global warming and linked to drought," Bayrou said during a visit to the Aude department, one of the areas hardest hit by the blazes.
