WATCH: All goals and match report as Barcelona put seven past FC Seoul

Barcelona Run Riot in Seoul, Securing 7-3 Victory

FC Seoul 3 - 7 FC Barcelona

Barcelona put on a dazzling display against FC Seoul, reminiscent of their dominant performances from last season. Though Hansi Flick will undoubtedly seek tighter defensive organization ahead of the new campaign, the attacking prowess was undeniable.

Welcomed by a roaring crowd of 62,458 in South Korea's capital, Barcelona started with intent, showcasing a strong lineup that could have easily faced a top-tier opponent. Their intensity and swift ball movement set the tone within the first 20 minutes.

Early Goals Define the First Half

Just seven minutes into the match, Lamine Yamal's shot ricocheted off Kang Hyeon-Mu's gloves, allowing Robert Lewandowski to tap into an empty net for the opening goal. Eight minutes later, Yamal capitalized on a loose ball from his own pass, firing it into the corner with precision.

While Barcelona could have extended their lead further, Dani Olmo missed a golden opportunity after Jules Kounde's precise inside pass. Seoul began to find their footing in the latter stages of the first half, testing Alejandro Balde's defensive capabilities on several occasions.

Seoul Strikes Back Against the Tide

Despite VAR being absent, Seoul’s opener through Cho Young-Wook would likely have been ruled offside as he was positioned behind Ronald Araujo during the run. A lapse in concentration from Lamine Yamal deep in Barcelona's half allowed Seoul to capitalize.

Just before halftime, Yazan Al-Arab, slipping through after a clever backheel, surprised Barcelona with an excellent equalizer for Seoul. He finished the move decisively past Joan Garcia, leaving no chance for the goalkeeper.

However, the Catalan side quickly responded. Lamine Yamal, displaying his clinical finishing once again, cut inside and fired into the top corner, restoring their lead at 3-2 heading into halftime.

Second String Shine Bright in the Final 45 Minutes

Flick introduced a new lineup for the second half, replacing the starting XI with a mix of younger players and loanee Marcus Rashford. While the game initially slowed down, Andreas Christensen's thunderous strike from 30 yards ignited the match once more.

Roony Bardghji played a crucial role in setting up the goal, while Wojciech Szczesny saved the day for Barcelona, denying a Seoul forward after a backpass blunder.

Barcelona's Goalscoring Spree Continues

In the 74th minute, Ferran Torres capitalized on a pass from Jofre Torrents, calmly finishing past the goalkeeper at the near post. Two minutes later, Gavi unleashed a powerful shot into the corner, leaving Cho Cheol Won with no chance.

Teenagers Toni Fernandez and Guille Fernandez entered the field, almost linking up for a stunning fifth goal. However, it was Ferran Torres who found his second of the match, securing Barcelona's seventh goal.

Meanwhile, Seoul managed to pull one back as Jung Han-Min expertly slotted home from a solo run against Szczesny.

A Dominant Performance With Room for Improvement

Barcelona's ruthless efficiency in front of goal was evident throughout the match. Their ability to create chances and exploit space pleased Flick. However, the three goals conceded highlight areas where defensive organization requires attention.

Flick will analyze these aspects further as he seeks to fine-tune his team ahead of the new season.
