Roma turn to Rowe after Marseille pick up Paixao
Roma Set Sights on Rowe After Paixao's Marseille Move
Giallorossi Seek Wide Player as Pace Shifts in Transfer Market
The Giallorossi are pivoting their focus after Igor Paixao opted for a lucrative move to Olympique Marseille. Roma had initially targeted the Feyenoord winger to suit new coach Gian Piero Gasperini's tactics, but Paixao ultimately secured a transfer worth €30 million plus €5 million in add-ons, edging out Leeds United.
Marseille Star Now in Roma's Crosshairs
Jonathan Rowe, who recently won the Under-21 European Championship with England, is now on Roma's radar. The 22-year-old winger completed a transfer from Norwich City to Marseille for €16.5 million after an initial loan spell. Marseille is reportedly asking for €20 million for Rowe as Paixao's arrival could lead to sales.
A New Chapter for the Young Talent
Atalanta had also shown interest in Rowe, considering him as a potential alternative to Ademola Lookman if the Nigerian striker moved to Inter.
Rowe impressed last season in Ligue 1, scoring three goals and providing three assists in 28 appearances.
