Pau Victor reveals his last conversation with a teammate after leaving Barcelona.
Pau Victor Heeds Raphinha's Advice, Joins SC Braga for €15 Million
Barcelona offloads young Spanish striker as transfer season heats up.
Barcelona is streamlining its roster for the upcoming season under new manager Hansi Flick. Several players are on their way out, including promising Spaniard Pau Victor, who recently joined Portuguese club SC Braga in a €12 million deal with potential add-ons reaching €3 million. Victor joins a growing list of departures from Barcelona, which also includes Andreas Christensen and Oriol Romeu.
Victor's decision to leave the Catalan giants was reportedly influenced by a conversation with his teammate Raphinha. The Brazilian winger, who previously played in Portugal for Vitória de Guimarães, offered advice that ultimately swayed Victor's choice.
"He played for a rival club (Vitória de Guimarães), so I shouldn’t take his advice too seriously," Victor initially told Mundo Deportivo, jokingly dismissing Raphinha's input.
But the young striker soon revealed that Raphinha had actually encouraged him to make the move.
"Truth is, he told me to go," Victor admitted.
Raphinha reportedly praised Braga's standing in Portuguese football, highlighting the league's increasing quality and its history of developing talent.
"It’s a major club in a fast-growing league. Plenty of top players have come from there."
Victor joins Braga with the hopes of continuing his development under the guidance of experienced coaches and alongside talented teammates.
