Marshawn Lynch throws elbow to protect camera from Seahawks RB George Holani in debut as photographer

Money Lynch Goes for the Click

A sideline cameo almost ends in collision.

Former Seattle Seahawks star Marshawn Lynch was spotted on the sidelines during Thursday's preseason game against the Las Vegas Raiders, but this time he wasn't carrying a football. The 39-year-old legend was wielding a camera and wearing an official NFL vest, capturing the action from the field's edge.

When rookie running back George Holani barreled toward Lynch during a play, the seasoned photographer quickly extended his elbow to protect his equipment. It was a close call, but both men emerged unscathed, earning chuckles from those watching.

The Seahawks tweeted about the incident, jokingly asking if Lynch’s maneuver constituted "unnecessary roughness."

From Gridiron to Lens?

Lynch's presence behind the camera raises eyebrows. Could this be a new trend for retired Seattle athletes? Both Randy Johnson and Ken Griffey Jr. have taken up photography in their post-sporting careers. Johnson's "Randy Johnson Photography" captures concerts and wildlife, while Griffey's work garnered praise at this year's Masters tournament.

Lynch's appearance on the sidelines also comes amidst a reunion with former coach Pete Carroll, who now leads the Raiders. Lynch even popped up at Carroll’s introductory press conference to ask a question, suggesting a potential continuation of their relationship beyond the field.

The Multifaceted "Beast Mode"

Since retiring from football, Lynch has been anything but idle. He's built a diverse portfolio as both a businessman and media personality, with investments in the NHL's Seattle Kraken, USL's Oakland Roots, marijuana brands, and even a hologram start-up. His television appearances have ranged from Amazon's "Thursday Night Football" to HBO's “Euphoria,” and he even starred in a reality show about celebrities colonizing Mars. Lynch also hosted a podcast with California Governor Gavin Newsom.

Whether Lynch is developing a new career path or simply enjoying the game in a different way, his sideline cameo adds another fascinating chapter to the legend of "Beast Mode."
