Maddy Siegrist's return to Wings from knee injury delayed at least 1 more game
Siegrist's Return Delayed Again for Dallas Wings
Dallas forward sidelined once more after initial comeback hoped for Friday night.
DALLAS — Maddy Siegrist will have to wait at least one more game to return from a right knee fracture. The Dallas Wings announced Friday that the forward has been ruled out of their matchup against the Indiana Fever, just a day after indicating her 17-game absence was set to end.
Clash at American Airlines Center
This marks the second time this season the Wings will play at the home of the Dallas Mavericks. Their previous game at the American Airlines Center in late June saw them fall to the Fever 94-86, with Caitlin Clark sidelined due to a groin injury. While Clark returned after that setback, she will miss her sixth consecutive game against the Wings, having aggravated her groin injury.
Rising Stars on Injury Watch
Siegrist, who led NCAA Division I in scoring during her time at Villanova in 2022-23, has had an injury-plagued start to her WNBA career. Limited to just 11 games last season, she is averaging 9.4 points and 5.2 rebounds this year across those 11 appearances. Her most productive outing came before her injury – an 81-65 loss to Minnesota on June 8th, where she registered a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
