Liverpool Transfer News: Double deal COLLAPSES

Liverpool's Double Deal Dreams Crumble

Liverpool's transfer plans have suffered a setback, with a potential double deal collapsing and leaving the club scrambling for alternatives.

Morton Heads to Lyon

Tyler Morton is set to join Lyon this week in a €15m deal. The move was essentially agreed upon last week, with Morton giving his approval to the contract and Liverpool accepting the fee. With only one year remaining on his contract, a sale seemed inevitable. Despite limited playing time last season, the midfielder's potential value likely peaked a year ago.

Lyon have capitalized on Liverpool's predicament, securing a solid midfield talent at a discounted price.

West Ham's Double-Deal Stumbles

Meanwhile, a separate deal for Harvey Elliott also appears to have stalled. According to Dominic King, West Ham had expressed interest in acquiring both Morton and Elliott as part of a double deal. The Hammers reportedly indicated they would commit to both transfers, with Elliott valued at around £40m by Liverpool.

This potential deal, however, appears to have fallen apart along with the Morton transfer. It remains unclear whether West Ham will still pursue Elliott individually.
