Inter Milan Awaiting Atalanta Counteroffer For Lookman – Agents’ Promise Of €40M Deal In Ruins
Inter Milan's £34 Million Lookman Dream Crumbles
Atalanta Rejects Second Bid as Agents' Promises Fall Flat
Inter Milan's pursuit of Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman has hit a major snag. The Nerazzurri are awaiting a counteroffer from La Dea after their second bid, worth €45 million (£39 million) including add-ons, was rejected.
The initial offer of €40 million (£34 million) had been based on an alleged promise from Lookman's agents that Atalanta would accept the deal this summer. This informal agreement reportedly emerged after Atalanta refused to sell the Nigerian last year. However, it seems that promise is now void.
"Atalanta did not include a counteroffer in their response," leaving Inter to speculate about La Dea’s true asking price.
Awaiting Response as €40 Million Deal Fades
The rejection marks a frustrating setback for Inter, who are now left in limbo while Atalanta contemplates its next move. It's clear that securing Lookman for the initially promised €40 million (£34 million) is no longer a viable option.
