Genk Forward In Limbo: 'I Don't Know If I'm Leaving This Season or the Next'

Tolu Arokodare, Genk's top scorer last season, admits his future remains uncertain amidst swirling transfer rumors.

The Nigerian international has been relegated to the bench in recent matches, despite finding the back of the net against Standard on Saturday. He entered the game as a substitute and scored the lone goal for Genk.

"I can't say anything about it, I don't know any more than you do," Arokodare confessed after the match. "You hear rumors, I hear rumors, but have you heard anything concrete? Everyone wants to play in the Premier League, me too. But in the end, it doesn't matter that much. I just want to play good football and feel appreciated, like I did at Genk. I don't know if I'm leaving this season or the next."

The 24-year-old sounded pessimistic about his current situation at the club. While open to a move to other leagues, Arokodare emphasized his desire for an environment where he can feel valued and showcase his potential, something he felt at Genk until recently.

"Anything can happen in football," Arokodare said. "It's very frustrating not knowing what's going on. I try to stay calm, even though my head is spinning. But I have my friends and family to keep me mentally stable."
