EXCLUSIVE: Liverpool closing in on Alexander Isak transfer

Liverpool Closing In on Isak Transfer

Swedish Star Wants Anfield Move, Despite Newcastle Rejection

Liverpool are making significant strides towards securing a deal for Swedish international Alexander Isak. The Reds submitted an initial bid on Friday afternoon, which was swiftly rejected by Newcastle. While Liverpool currently have no plans to increase their offer, the club remains highly confident in completing the transfer before the window closes.

This optimism stems from Isak's strong desire to join Liverpool and leave his current club, Newcastle. He notably chose to train separately in Spain during the team's pre-season tour of Asia, indicating a clear intention to move away from the Magpies.

“I do believe so [that Isak will end up at Liverpool]," states Swedish football expert Maxi Angelo exclusively to Anfield Watch. "From what I've read and heard, it feels like the relationship between Isak and Newcastle has reached a point of no return.”

Angelo further elaborates on his assessment: "It says quite a lot that he's not even training at the Newcastle facilities. Even though he's not in Asia for the pre-season tour, he could still train there to rehabilitate from an injury. But he's not, and I think that's quite telling.”

He continues, "As far as a percentage goes, I would say maybe 60% or 70% [how likely it is at this stage]. That’s just my gut feeling. I think it's getting more and more advanced each day."
