Cowboys agree to terms with OL La'el Collins
Collins Returns to Dallas: "I'm Going to Protect Your Daddy"
Cowboys QB Dak Prescott Welcomes Back Former Lineman for Tryout
La'el Collins assured Dak Prescott's children he would protect their father before his Cowboys tryout, a sentiment echoed by the quarterback himself who hoped Collins would "kill it." The veteran lineman will indeed return to Dallas after agreeing to terms with the team following Friday's workout.
Injuries have ravaged the Cowboys offensive line this week, forcing them to seek reinforcements. Tyler Guyton (knee), Rob Jones (neck), Matt Waletzko (ankle), and Hakeem Adeniji (concussion) are all sidelined, while Tyler Smith left practice Thursday with knee soreness.
Collins played seven seasons in Dallas after signing as an undrafted free agent in 2015. He last played in the NFL in 2022 with the Bengals and had brief stints with the Cowboys' practice squad in 2023 and the Bills in training camp this year. Over his career, Collins has appeared in 89 games with 86 starts, proving capable at both tackle and guard positions.
