“Here we go” – Fabrizio Romano confirms €30m hijacked deal for Chelsea star
Chelsea Star Hijacked by Saudi Side in €30 Million Deal
Al-Nassr Swoops In to Secure Joao Felix's Signature
Fabrizio Romano confirms that Portuguese star Joao Felix will be joining Al-Nassr, hijacking a potential return to Benfica.
The transfer saga took an unexpected turn as the Saudi side stepped in for the 25-year-old attacking midfielder, despite Felix previously stating his desire to rejoin his former club.
Felix's Departure Clears Path for Chelsea's Simons Pursuit
Chelsea have been busy strengthening their squad this summer with the acquisitions of Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, and Jamie Gittens, while also closing in on a deal for Xavi Simons. With Felix now departing, the Blues can focus their efforts on securing the 22-year-old RB Leipzig star.
Felix arrived at Stamford Bridge last summer from Atletico Madrid for £45 million but spent the latter half of the season on loan at AC Milan. He ultimately became surplus to requirements at Chelsea.
Romano's Confirmation: "Here We Go" for Felix and Al-Nassr
Taking to X.com, Romano confirmed the deal stating:
“EXCLUSIVE: Al Nassr agree deal to sign João Félix from Chelsea, here we go!
Player authorized to fly for medical and join Al Nassr, initial transfer fee worth €30m plus add-ons and heavy sell-on clause to meet Chelsea €50m valuation in future. Paperwork being prepared.”
Simons has reportedly agreed to a move to Chelsea, with the Blues currently engaged in advanced talks with RB Leipzig over a deal worth a reported £60 million for the versatile attacking midfielder.
