**Beirut -**  Lebanon's cabinet reconvened Thursday to grapple with the contentious issue of disarming Hezbollah, a day after the Iran-backed group defied government orders to surrender its weapons.

Hezbollah vehemently rejected a Lebanese government decision to disarm the militant group on Wednesday, vowing to "treat it as if it did not exist." 

The group's accusation of a "grave sin" against the cabinet follows Prime Minister Nawaf Salam’s announcement Tuesday that the government had tasked a committee with drafting a plan for Hezbollah's disarmament. The move comes amid heavy US pressure and fears that Israel could expand its attacks on Lebanon following recent cross-border clashes.

## Morocco Celebrates King Mohammed VI's 26 Years on the Throne

**Embassies in Lebanon, Bahrain, and Kuwait Host Festive Receptions**

On Wednesday, Moroccan embassies across the region gathered to celebrate the 26th anniversary of His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s accession to the Throne.  

In Beirut, Ambassador M’hammed Grine hosted a reception attended by prominent figures including Lebanon's Minister of Finance, Yassine Jaber, representing the President. 

“I am honored to be here today to celebrate this momentous occasion,” said Minister Jaber during the reception in Beirut. “Morocco and Lebanon share strong historical ties, and we are committed to further strengthening our bilateral relations.”


Similar celebrations took place at the Moroccan embassies in Bahrain and Kuwait, showcasing the widespread recognition and admiration for King Mohammed VI’s leadership throughout the region.

**Lebanese President Hails Moroccan Diplomacy in Ending 15-Year Conflict**


Algiers - Lebanese President Joseph Aoun commended Morocco's significant diplomatic contribution to ending Lebanon's long and brutal civil war during a joint press conference with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.  Aoun, on an official visit to Algiers, specifically highlighted Morocco's pivotal role in facilitating the 1989 Taif Agreement, which effectively brought the conflict to a close after 15 years.

"Morocco played a historical role in helping unify Lebanese factions during this difficult period," Aoun stated.  


This recognition underscores Morocco's long-standing commitment to regional stability and its successful track record in mediating complex conflicts.
