Raiders made 4 roster moves Sunday including adding a former Broncos mid-round tight end

Raiders Make Roster Shakeup After Mock Game Insights

Seattle, WA - Head coach Pete Carroll declared the Raiders' mock game a valuable learning experience, shedding light on potential roster decisions. The team acted quickly following the scrimmage, releasing undrafted rookie tight end Pat Conroy and wide receiver Kyle Phillips. In their place, Seattle signed wide receiver Kawaan Baker and tight end Albert Okwuegbunam.

Baker, a former seventh-round pick by the New Orleans Saints, brings prior NFL experience to the table. He was drafted in 2021 and appeared in two games as a rookie, solely contributing on special teams. However, his career was subsequently interrupted due to a six-game suspension for violating the league's performance-enhancing drug policy. Since then, Baker has bounced between various team rosters and practice squads but hasn't played in an official game.

Okwuegbunam, a fourth-round selection by the Denver Broncos in the 2020 NFL Draft, enters his fifth season in the league. After three seasons with the Broncos, he spent last year appearing in four games for the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Raiders' moves demonstrate a clear strategy as they fine-tune their roster ahead of the upcoming season.
