Two Canadair firefighting planes set for deployment

Lisbon activated a bilateral cooperation mechanism after two of its own firefighting aircraft broke down, prompting aid from Morocco. The Moroccan Ministry of the Interior confirmed Monday that two Canadair planes will be sent to Portugal later today.

The planes are expected to arrive in Portugal shortly and join the ongoing efforts to combat the raging wildfires.
