How Ange Postecoglou has decided to spend $8 million Tottenham sack payout

Postecoglou Trade Football for Fine Dining

Sacked Spurs Boss Embraces Life After the Premier League

The $8 million Tottenham payout might be tempting many managers to stay under the radar, but Ange Postecoglou isn't slowing down. After a tumultuous season ending in his sacking from Spurs, the Aussie coach is soaking up the sun and enjoying life off the pitch.

A recent TikTok video caught Postecoglou at high-end restaurant Sta Kala Kathoumena on the Greek island of Paros. Celebrity chef Stefanos Saratsis prepared a steak right before him, slicing it with precision and offering it straight from the knife. Postecoglou's nod of approval was a sight Spurs fans didn't see much last season.

The clip, viewed widely online, shows 'Aussie Ange' making the most of his free time. With an additional $4.2 million Europa League trophy bonus in his pocket, options abound for the former Spurs boss.

Turning Down Saudi & MLS Offers

While reports (via Daily Mail) suggest he has turned down an approach from Saudi side Al-Ahli, MLS side Los Angeles FC is said to be interested in his services.

Why Did Postecoglou Get the Boot?

Despite winning the Europa League, Spurs’ league form was disastrous. They finished 17th, losing 22 games. Club chairman Daniel Levy admitted the decision was tough but necessary.
“Ultimately, the decision sits with me,” Levy said. “We couldn’t lose sight of the fact that we finished 17th in the league… it is impossible for Tottenham to be in that position.”

Thomas Frank has since replaced Postecoglou, but the Australian's next move remains a talking point. Some believe he could land in Spain or France, while others see him returning to international football.

For now, Postecoglou seems content swapping the dugout for fine dining. The man who once fought for points in the Premier League is now winning the battle for the best table in Greece. If football is a game of two halves, Ange's second half is off to a very tasty start.
