Morocco braces for a scorching heat wave this weekend, with temperatures predicted to soar between 39 and 48°C from Friday to Tuesday. The General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) warns of hazardous conditions, including Chergui winds, thunderstorms with hail, and strong gusts.
Friday Forecast: Heat Wave Intensifies
Provinces across the country will experience temperatures ranging from 39 to 43°C on Friday. Fquih Ben Salah, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Taroudant, Zagora, and Essaouira are among those facing the most intense heat.
Warnings for Heavy Rainfall and Strong Winds
The DGM also anticipates thunderstorms accompanied by hail and strong winds throughout the week, particularly affecting the Southern regions. Residents in these areas are urged to take precautions against potential flash floods and damage from flying debris.
