## Deion's Legacy in Focus: Shilo Sanders Makes NFL Debut

Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie safety Shilo Sanders made his NFL debut Saturday night, adding another chapter to the already legendary story of his family. While the spotlight was brighter on his brother, Shedeur, making waves with the Cleveland Browns just a day earlier, Shilo's performance against the Tennessee Titans (29-7) hinted at potential.

"He didn’t want it," Shilo revealed after the game, when asked if he'd given his dad, Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, his first NFL jersey as a birthday gift.  “You know he’s a Hall of Famer. He expects like 30 times more. I’m gonna give it to my mom though…He don't want it. I gotta get like three picks or something for him to want it.”

The younger Sanders' humor highlights the immense pressure and expectations placed upon him by his father's legendary status. But Shilo delivered a solid performance, including a bone-jarring hit on Titans quarterback Brandon Allen that forced an incompletion.


"Just unleashing my abilities to the max," Shilo said after the game. "Everything God gave me — speed, power, physicality, smartness to react to plays — I just have to keep improving, especially on special teams."

He admitted to leaving some big hits "on the table" and expressed confidence that next week's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers would see improvement.  Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles echoed this sentiment, stating Shilo has “a chance to make it” onto the 53-man roster if he continues to show progress.   


The NFL journey for Shilo Sanders is just beginning. The eyes of the nation will be watching as he strives to carve his own path in the league while living up to the legacy set by his father.

## Buccaneers' Irving Sets Sights on Top 5 RBs

Bucky Irving isn't shying away from big expectations as he heads into his second year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The running back believes he belongs among the NFL's elite and is setting his sights on a repeat performance of last season's success.

Irving joins an exclusive club if he manages another 1,000-yard rushing season.  He'd become the first Buccaneer to achieve that feat since Errict Rhett in 1994 and 1995. The former Oregon standout carried the Ducks' offense with impressive results: 2,238 yards and 16 touchdowns over his final two seasons, averaging an eye-popping 16 yards per carry. Those numbers caught the attention of Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht, who drafted Irving in the fourth round last year.

"We got some good ones out there, man," Irving said to NFL Network analyst Steve Smith Sr. "I'd probably put myself, we got some dogs, I’m going to put myself in the top-5, for sure."

Irving began last season as the backup to Rachaad White but quickly took over as the lead back midway through the year. He finished with 1,122 yards and eight touchdowns, averaging a respectable 5.4 yards per carry. 

His performance will be crucial if the Buccaneers hope to continue their dominant run in the NFC South, aiming for a record fifth straight championship and a sixth consecutive playoff berth in 2025.

We just want to cut that interception ratio down."

**Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans fear the worst as promising rookie faces a potential setback.**


The Tampa Bay Buccaneers began Day 3 of training camp in relatively good health, with only Tristan Wirfs' pre-camp knee situation looming. That changed swiftly when fourth-round draft pick David Walker went down with what appeared to be a knee injury early in practice.

Walker was seen favoring his knee and limping off the field before heading straight to the locker room with the assistance of medical staff. 

“It was hard to tell how serious the injury was, but he was clearly favoring his knee. The medical staff was on him quickly and assisted him to the locker room," reported Fan Stream Sports - Tampa Bay's JP Peterson, who witnessed the incident.


Walker had been generating significant excitement throughout the offseason, touted by many as a key addition to a Buccaneers defense that struggled with pass rush last year.

Hall of Famer Ronde Barber, a former teammate of some legendary pass rushers, believes Walker possesses a similar potential. 

“Our No. 1 impact rookie, you might not believe this — it is David Walker,” said Barber. “I didn’t know anything about him until we picked him, and then you go and look at what he did… when you put the film on, you’re like, ‘Holy cow, this dude has the mentality.’ It’s kinda like this underdog mentality that makes people respect him.”

Barber drew comparisons between Walker and former teammate Simeon Rice, who significantly bolstered the Buccaneers' defensive line during Barber's tenure.  “I’m not making [this] comparison, certainly, to David Walker. But when the Bucs got really good when I was playing, it’s because we went out and got Simeon Rice,” Barber said. “And we dominated teams after that because of the pressure generated from the edge of our d-line. We need someone to do that, and I’m not putting a lot of pressure on him, but David Walker looks like a guy who could do that.”


The severity of Walker's injury remains unknown, leaving Buccaneers fans anxiously awaiting updates on his status.
