## Europe Scorched: Over Half Under Drought's Grip

More than half of Europe and the Mediterranean's landmass, 52 percent, was gripped by drought in July, hitting a record high for the month since monitoring began in 2012.  This figure represents a stark 21-point jump above the average recorded between 2012 and 2024.
