## Global Growth Surges as Trade Circumvents Tariffs

**IMF Upbeat on Future, but Warns of Slowdown This Year** 


The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has revised its global growth forecast upwards, citing a significant increase in trade fueled by efforts to bypass Donald Trump's tariffs.  While the US president has tempered some of his previous threats, the IMF still predicts a slowdown in economic growth this year.

Despite the projected slowdown, the IMF now forecasts global growth to reach 3.0% by 2025, an increase from previous estimates. This upward revision reflects the unexpected surge in international trade, largely driven by businesses seeking alternatives to products subject to Trump's tariffs.
