**Heavy rains unleash destruction despite early warnings.**

Tourism operators in the Ourika Valley are counting the cost of a devastating flash flood that swept through the region on Wednesday. Heavy rainfall triggered the sudden surge in river levels, leaving several riverside cafés damaged and businesses struggling to recover.  

Despite early warnings issued by local authorities, many operators were unable to salvage their expensive furnishings before the waters rose rapidly. "The damage is severe," stated one operator. "We lost everything – tables, chairs, equipment – it's heartbreaking." 


The impact on tourism is expected to be significant, with several businesses forced to shut down temporarily.  “It will take time and considerable effort to rebuild,” said another impacted business owner. “We’re hoping for support from the community and authorities to get back on our feet.”
