## Fever Find Fortune in 'Stranger Things' Jerseys

The Indiana Fever have defied expectations this season despite a litany of injuries. Superstar Caitlin Clark has been sidelined for 19 games, and Thursday saw guards Aari McDonald (torn ACL) and Sydney Colson (broken foot) both end their seasons prematurely.  Yet, amidst the adversity, the Fever have emerged with an unexpected winning streak – one they seem to attribute to a unique good luck charm: their "Stranger Things" rebel jerseys.

**Luck of the Upside Down?**

After a five-game win streak, the Fever suffered two losses in a row. Then, on Saturday, they donned their "Stranger Things"-themed uniforms for the third time this season – and defeated the Chicago Sky 92-70.  The jersey's record now stands at an impressive 3-0.

The first victory came against the Las Vegas Aces on July 24, followed by a win over the Phoenix Mercury on July 30.   With their latest win, the Fever have fans buzzing about a potential connection between these jerseys and their success.  As Twitter user @caitlinclarksty put it, "The Indiana Fever are 3–0 in the Stranger Things rebel jersey 🩸👀."

**Clutch Performances Amidst Absences**

Even with Clark and Angel Reese out of action, the Fever continue to impress. All-Star guard Kelsey Mitchell scored 26 points against the Sky, surpassing Napheesa Collier for the most total points scored this season (637).  This strong performance contributed to the team's sixth win in their last eight games, propelling them into fifth place in the WNBA standings with an 18-14 record.

**The Streak Continues?**

Next Tuesday, the Fever will face Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings, sporting their "Stranger Things" jerseys once again.  Can they extend their winning streak to 4-0 and solidify the superstition that these uniforms bring them good luck?

**Sky Forward Remains Questionable After Back Injury**

Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese missed Thursday night’s game against the Seattle Storm due to a back injury. This absence contributed to the Sky’s second consecutive blowout loss, dropping their record to 7-17 and leaving them five games behind a playoff spot.  The injury to Reese, a two-time All-Star averaging 13.8 points and 12.5 rebounds this season, is a major concern for a Chicago team with little room for error.

**Reese Tests Back Ahead of Sunday’s Game**

While Reese was officially listed as questionable on the injury report, she was seen participating in individual drills on Saturday, seemingly testing her back ahead of Sunday's afternoon matchup against the Indiana Fever at home.

Reese's status being labeled as questionable instead of ruled out a day in advance is positive news. It suggests the injury isn’t overly serious, aligning with comments from head coach Tyler Marsh who has described Reese’s back issue as day-to-day.

## Sky Crumbled as Malonga Makes History in Storm Rout

**Chicago's Season Hits a New Low with Devastating 38-Point Loss to Seattle.**

The Chicago Sky experienced a nightmarish Thursday, suffering their worst defeat of the season – a crushing 95-57 loss to the Seattle Storm. This lopsided result leaves Chicago at a dismal 7-17 halfway through the campaign.

Star player Angel Reese was absent due to a back injury, further compounding Chicago's struggles. The two-time All-Star leads the league in rebounding, and her absence was keenly felt as Seattle dominated the boards, securing 39 rebounds compared to Chicago's 31.

Malonga's impressive display showcased her immense potential as the second overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft. Despite averaging only 4.1 points and 2.9 rebounds entering Thursday's game, she proved that the future is bright for both Malonga and the Seattle Storm.
