US President Donald Trump announced Friday he would meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska next week, suggesting a potential land swap deal between Moscow and Kyiv could be part of an eventual peace agreement for the ongoing war in Ukraine. “I think we’ll see some very interesting developments,” Trump said, hinting at the possibility of territorial concessions.
The Kremlin later confirmed the summit, stating that choosing Alaska as the meeting location was “quite logical.”
“The presidents themselves will undoubtedly […],” a Kremlin spokesperson added.
