Border Tensions Eased: Thailand, Cambodia Extend Ceasefire

At least 43 lives were lost in a five-day border conflict between Thailand and Cambodia last month before a ceasefire was brokered. Now, the two countries have agreed to extend the fragile truce. Hostilities erupted after a long-standing dispute over temple ownership escalated into violence, ending only on Tuesday of last week.

Malaysian Mediation

A Malaysian delegation played a key role in securing the initial truce. The agreement comes as diplomats continue to work towards a lasting solution to the territorial dispute.
