Kaiwaka, New Zealand: A 27-year-old woman is facing charges after a two-year-old girl was discovered inside her luggage on a bus Sunday.

The incident unfolded in Kaiwaka, a town in Northland, when a passenger asked to access the bus’s luggage compartment. The driver became alarmed upon seeing the young child concealed within one of the suitcases. Police were immediately alerted and arrived at the scene.

"A two-year-old girl was found inside a suitcase," confirmed police. "The woman responsible for the child has been arrested."

The child's condition is currently unknown. The investigation is ongoing.
