The Malian government announced Sunday night the safe return of four Moroccan truck drivers kidnapped on January 18, 2025, near the Burkina Faso–Niger border. The drivers were held captive by the Islamic State in the Sahel Province (ISSP), a regional offshoot of ISIS, according to an official communiqué from Mali’s transitional authorities.
