Detroit Lions injury report: Taylor Decker off PUP, Dan Skipper dealing with ankle injury

Lions Line Up: Decker Returns, Skipper Down, Secondary Still Stretched Thin

Detroit's offensive line sees a boost with the return of Taylor Decker, but injuries continue to plague other positions.

Taylor Decker took the practice field Sunday for the first time this training camp, offering a welcome sight for Lions fans. The veteran offensive tackle was activated off the physically unable to perform (PUP) list and participated in individual and group drills. This marks the first time Detroit's projected starting offensive line has practiced together during preseason.

However, their offensive line depth took a hit with Dan Skipper sustaining an ankle injury in the Lions' preseason opener against the Los Angeles Chargers. Campbell stated Skipper will be sidelined for approximately a week.

The team signed Justin Herron on Saturday to bolster their offensive line depth ahead of their second preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons on August 8th.

"Skipper will probably be down for about a week," Campbell said. "Got his ankle a little bit. Shouldn’t be long-term, but he’s going to need to lay off of it for a little bit here."

Secondary Concerns Grow

Adding to Detroit's injury woes, cornerback Terrion Arnold will miss practice time due to a hamstring injury sustained during last week's intrasquad scrimmage. While Campbell described the injury as a "low-grade" hamstring issue and anticipates his return mid-week, this further complicates an already depleted secondary.

The Lions are also without backup cornerback Khalil Dorsey who remains on the PUP list recovering from a broken leg suffered last season. Starters D.J. Reed and Amik Robertson have also dealt with injuries throughout training camp.

Yeboah Out for Personal Reasons

Tight end Kenny Yeboah will miss Sunday's practice due to personal reasons, Campbell confirmed. Despite needing his ankle re-taped during the Chargers game, Yeboah did not suffer a significant injury.
