King Called Upon to Stop "Mass Killings" of Stray Animals

Animal welfare groups plead with monarch for intervention as events approach.

Moroccan animal welfare organizations have directly appealed to King Mohammed VI to halt what they describe as "systematic mass killings" of stray dogs and cats. The groups claim these actions are taking place in anticipation of upcoming continental and international events.

In a letter addressed to the monarch, the organizations state they have "exhausted all institutional channels" without receiving a response from relevant authorities.
