Algeria's Defense Ministry announced Sunday that its security forces successfully neutralized four armed militants near the country’s southeastern border.

According to a ministry statement, the group, equipped with Kalashnikov rifles, was attempting to infiltrate Algerian territory Saturday morning when they were engaged by army personnel. "The group had been active in terrorist..." the statement read, before abruptly ending.
