Activists expose Tifinagh errors in Morocco’s official signage
Tifinagh Typo Troubles: Moroccan Activists Launch Public Signage Correction Campaign
A grassroots effort aims to promote accurate representation of Tamazight in public spaces.
A group of Moroccan Amazigh activists has launched a Facebook initiative dedicated to correcting spelling errors in the Tifinagh script on public institution signage. Their goal? To advocate for the proper integration of Tamazight into Morocco's public sphere.
The campaign relies on crowdsourcing. Members share images of signage with perceived inaccuracies from across the country and submit suggested corrections. "It's a way to ensure that public spaces accurately reflect the linguistic diversity of our nation," said one activist involved in the project.
