**Facing New Regulations, Tech Giant Makes Preemptive Move**

In a proactive response to the European Union's forthcoming regulations on political advertising, Meta announced on Friday that it will cease selling and displaying political ads within the EU starting October 2025.  

"We are committed to complying with the new EU regulations," a Meta spokesperson stated. "To ensure transparency and fairness in political advertising, we have decided to proactively stop offering these services in the EU ahead of the implementation deadline."


This move comes as the EU prepares to tighten its grip on online political campaigns, aiming to combat misinformation and manipulation.
