## Dream Seek to Extend Win Streak Against Struggling Storm

**Seattle, WA -** The Atlanta Dream (20-11) face the Seattle Storm (16-16) Wednesday night at Climate Pledge Arena, with the Dream looking to continue their winning ways against a struggling home team. 

The Storm are reeling, having lost four straight games at home and sitting at an 8-8 record on their own court. Despite that struggle, Seattle boasts the fourth-best points in the paint average in the WNBA at 38.4 per game, led by Nneka Ogwumike's 9.1 points per contest down low.

Atlanta, meanwhile, carries a 10-7 road record into Wednesday's matchup. The Dream are averaging 84.3 points per game while outscoring opponents by a comfortable 6.2 points.  They’ll be looking to exploit Seattle’s defensive weaknesses – the Storm allow an average of 79.8 points per game, compared to Atlanta's offensive output of 84.3.

Uncasville, Connecticut – The Chicago Sky (8-23) are desperate for a win as they head to Uncasville Wednesday night to face the struggling Connecticut Sun (5-26).  Both teams enter the matchup on losing streaks – Chicago has dropped five straight while the Sun have lost their last six games. 

The Sun, who sit sixth in Eastern Conference rebounding with an average of 31.2 boards per game, will be looking to turn things around against a Sky team that struggles against .500 opponents (1-18). Connecticut's Tina Charles leads the way on the boards with 5.8 rebounds per game.

The two teams last met on June 15th, with Chicago emerging victorious in a 78-66 win. That victory marked the only time this season the Sky have defeated a team with a winning record.

Both teams struggle offensively. Connecticut shoots just 40.4% from the field – significantly lower than Chicago's defensive average of 44.9%. The Sun also allow an average of 8.6 three-pointers per game, a number that could be exploited by Chicago, who averages 6.9 made threes per contest.

## Mystics Look to Bounce Back Against Valkyries

**Washington, D.C.** - The Washington Mystics host the Golden State Valkyries Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. EDT. Kiki Iriafen led the Mystics to a 91-78 victory over the Dallas Wings in their last outing, scoring 23 points. 

**Home Court Advantage**
Washington is undefeated at home this season with a 9-6 record.  The Valkyries, meanwhile, struggle on the road with a 6-10 record away from Golden State.

**Offensive Clash**
Both teams boast potent offenses. The Mystics average 78.6 points per game, slightly more than the 77.1 points allowed by the Valkyries. However, Golden State averages 77.5 points per game, compared to Washington's 80.5 points allowed.

**Series History**
This will be the third meeting between these two teams this season. The Valkyries won the last matchup on July 31st, with Kate Martin leading the way with 14 points. Sonia Citron scored 16 points for Washington in that game.

## Altuve's Grand Slam Powers Astros to 9-1 Victory Over Nationals

**Houston Cruises Past Washington Behind Career Night From Second Baseman**

HOUSTON - Jose Altuve ignited the Houston Astros offense with a career-high four hits, including a three-run homer, leading them to a commanding 9-1 victory over the Washington Nationals on Wednesday. This was Altuve's second four-hit game of the season and the 41st of his career, extending a franchise record.

Altuve wasn't alone in the offensive explosion. Cooper Hummel added a two-run homer, and Yainer Díaz contributed a three-run shot as the AL West leaders secured their second consecutive win after ending a five-game losing streak on Tuesday night.

Rookie Ryan Gusto (7-4) shined on the mound for Houston, allowing only four hits and one run over six innings. He bounced back from giving up a season-high eight runs in his previous start against Oakland.  

In the second inning, with two runners on base and two outs, Altuve launched a changeup from MacKenzie Gore (4-11) into the Crawford Boxes, putting Houston ahead 4-1. 

Mauricio Dubón's single in the sixth inning sparked another rally. Hummel followed with his third homer of the season, chasing Gore from the game.  The tension escalated when Washington interim manager Miguel Cairo was ejected after a heated exchange with home plate umpire Ryan Additon following Hummel's homer.

Altuve continued his impressive night by collecting his third single before Díaz capped off the scoring with a three-run homer to left-center, extending Houston's lead to 9-1. Gore surrendered eight hits and six runs in 5 1/3 innings pitched.

The Astros offense came alive after struggling during their five-game losing streak, combining for 16 runs in their last two victories.  

With his three-run homer, Altuve's 727th extra-base hit tied him with Lance Berkman for third-most in franchise history. They trail only Hall of Famers Craig Biggio (1,014) and Jeff Bagwell (969).


Both teams will enjoy a day off on Thursday before Washington hosts Milwaukee on Friday night and Houston opens a series at Boston.
